Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a full-body treatment that uses gliding strokes, kneading, and gentle pressure to improve blood circulation and relieve tension.
This soothing treatment is ideal for easing muscle discomfort, enhancing your overall well-being, and promoting deep relaxation.
By encouraging the release of endorphins, it leaves you feeling refreshed, balanced, and completely at ease.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage focuses on the different layers of tissue (muscle, tendons and fascia), working to relax, lengthen and release strain patterns within them, so that the body posture can realign itself.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated stones. They are often basalt, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. The heat is both deeply relaxing and helps tight muscles release.
The heat of the stones penetrates deep into the muscle tissue releasing toxins and increasing lymphatic drainage. The heat is very soothing for aching joints and muscles. The depth of the massage stimulates a higher rate of tissue repair.
During the massage, the therapist warms up the body with traditional Swedish massage, then massages you while holding a set of heated stones. As the stones cool, the therapist replaces it with another.
The therapist might also leave heated stones in specific points along your spine, in the palms of your hand, on your belly, or even between your toes to improve the flow of energy in your body.
The strokes given to the body with hot stones are generally deeper than the average traditional massage movements due to the stones density; with an estimated efficiency ten times that of traditional massage.
What is Hopi Ear Candling?
Hopi ear candling is a natural therapy which involves gently placing long hollow ‘candles’ into the ear canal to stimulate the ear with warm and cold air and facilitate the removal of excess wax and impurities. The heat of the hopi ear candle flame melts and loosens the ear wax and creates negative pressure that ‘sucks’ the wax into the candle. The removal of excess wax and impurities helps to clear the inner ear and sinuses, regulate pressure in the ear and induce deep relaxation.
Earwax usually passes out of the ears harmlessly, especially if you are one of the many people who produce only a small amount of wax in your lifetime. Some people, however, produce a excessive amount of earwax which can get built up and block their ears. This can result in unpleasant feeling of blocked ears and reduced hearing ability.
What does a Hopi Ear Candling Treatment involve?
The treatment begins with a gentle massage of the face, neck and head to relieve tension and stimulate blood flow to the face and ear. You will then lie on your back with your head turned to one side and the candle will be lit and gently inserted into your outer ear. The therapist will hold the candle in place while the candle is burning (around 12 minutes). This is then repeated on the other ear and followed by further massage of the head and face to help the ears and sinuses to clear themselves. While the candle is burning you may hear gentle little crackling sounds which most people find very soothing and pleasant
